It’s worth recalling that the world merchant fleet is made up of different types of vessels, which can be grouped into the following categories: general cargo ships, container ships, barge carriers, bulk carriers, oil tankers and chemical tankers, c.107K in total.
A total of 323 cruise ships are currently in operation globally. There are 51 ocean and 27 river cruise lines in the world.
In 2024, approximately 36M passengers globally are anticipated to embark on cruises.
There are currently 5,396 superyachts over 30m / 98ft in length.
Motor yachts make up 84% of the global fleet and sailing yachts make up 16% currently operating in the world.
