Course Description

The S-100 Familiarisation course provides an introduction to the new revolutionary products that will change the way that ships are navigated. The course provides a detailed overview of S-100 products rather than focusing on any one particular product and its content. This course is designed to inform seafarers, crew managers and everybody else involved in the maritime industry of what the pivot to S-100 means for them and the industry as a whole.

Teaching Methods

Our team of trainers are at the forefront of S-100 testing and work closely with S-100 manufacturers to ensure that we have the most up to date information regarding different products.

The course is divided between simulator time and classroom-based lectures. The lectures allow us to discuss the new products in detail and show images of different S-100 products showing the attendees how it differs from S-57 as well as new uses for the products. While Simulator time allows attendees to experience S-100 charting first hand, using the systems in simulated scenarios.

Pre-Requisites

There are no pre-requisites for undertaking the course though it is recommended that you have experience using ECDIS.

Certificate

Trainees who successfully complete the course will be issued a S-100 Familiarisation Certificate.
